(( Proving to whom and what? ))
In life, unknowingly we all have one thought running deeply back in our mind. That is to prove that am living a good and happy life, we have good knowledge, philosophy – the best!
The intention behind is to convince others and indirectly to satisfy self by believing others are convinced.
No matter what we do, most of our acts and behaviour in life are from this cause – and this happens subconsciously! As the society we see from childhood while we grow, has lasting impression on our life with these false definitions of good and so called settled and stable life. Mostly with intentions to prove something back to society – which usually never happens. Socially there is lot of pressure on everyone due to these approach and no one dares to come out to live for own. If we do great things in life – we want to prove to others, if we don’t do anything great, still we want to proven that we lived a great life!
However, whatever, we do in life – Good or Bad, it doesn’t matter to others. Does it mean that we shouldn’t do anything great or remarkable nor have this intention in background?
We can have the zeal to do something really extraordinary and best “but” with the intention of not proving to anyone. It only matters to self – no one else! At the end, it matter only to self that did I give my best of myself in anything I did in life without intentions of pleasing others or even without fearing the criticism from others! Because we are neither going to be successful in either of the cause. The only satisfying fact could be that – did I give my best in life for self and without thinking of the outcome!?
Why? The reason is; we human has natural tendency to find faults and our brain is designed to find the negative first. Whatever truly really best we do or have, we want to find faults; and thus this is never ending. One of the favourite habits of all of us all time is to find faults. Subconsciously it has becomes addiction to all of us. For example, if we see 15 things right and 1 thing wrong, we will have higher focus on that 1 thing and spend all our energy and time on that 1 negative thing. Just imagine an ideal world where everything is fine – No problems at all. Still some of us will try to find the non-satisfying part in good. Because there is nothing such as all good?! For example, poor countries in the world have their own problems and rich countries too. Poor people have their own problems and rich people too. So realistically , there is no such place or thing like all good on earth. The fact is, finding faults is never ending. When we take this concept on self too, we cannot avoid being leftout: Example: If in a day 15 people praise you for your work, abilities, etc. and in the evening only if one person criticise you, you’ll have lasting impression on that one negative feedback. Though we may not express it, but inside – it makes home bigger than 15 praises. That is human tendency and that’s how we all are.
So is there a point of doing anything for the outcome or praise or criticism?
Of course the key satisfying intention in life remains is to keep doing own best! Irrespective to outcome – As much as we can – no comparison, no ego, no race, no exceptions of results, no proving…
As at the end, its all about assuring that your inner self is happy with your “effort” and not “results!” And in this process, if it affects and benefits others in being more positive, or good to others – then that’s the by-product.
